How is the plate total worked out?

Add every digit on the plate, ignoring letters, then keep adding the digits of the result until one digit from 1 to 9 is left. Example: MH14EF1222 gives 1 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 12; 1 + 2 = 3. The letters toggle adds A=1 to Z=26 before reducing.

Which mulanks does plate total 3 suit?

By the traditional mulank friendship table, total 3 suits mulank 1, 2, 3, 5, 9. It clashes with mulank 6, 8. Other pairs count as neutral. The table follows the Cheiro and Sepharial lineage, and this site uses it as its convention.

My mulank clashes with total 3. What now?

If your mulank is 6, 8, the table calls this a clash. Compare other numbers, or try the letters toggle. The same plate can reduce differently if you count letters, so try the toggle. Note that this is a number game, not advice: it does not predict anything about your vehicle or your luck.

Does the RTO or the law care about plate totals?

No. The RTO allots a number by availability and the fancy-number auction, and the law does not look at numerology. The total is only a convention people use when choosing a number, so treat the verdict as a game.
